Thank you for visiting the website of the Research Center for LWR Engineering.
The Center was established to advance fundamental and applied research aimed at enhancing the performance and safety of light water reactors, as well as other nuclear reactors and nuclear fuel cycle facilities, and to ensure that the outcomes of this research are effectively translated into future practical applications.
We are committed to addressing a wide range of challenges, including the long-term operation and higher burnup of light water reactors, the development of advanced fuels and innovative reactor technologies, and nuclear facility decommissioning. Our research activities are driven by the needs of both industry and regulatory authorities. Beyond publishing scientific findings in academic journals, we strive to develop databases and analysis codes, conduct independent verification, analysis, and evaluation, and compile the results into technical reports that can directly support reactor design and safety assessments. Leveraging the domestic and international networks and collaborative relationships established over many years, we will continue to incorporate the latest research findings and technical knowledge while developing and providing domestically produced analytical tools, databases, and related resources.
Another important mission of the Center is the development of the next generation of nuclear professionals. Through technical dialogue among academia, industry, and government organizations involved in research, development, and practical implementation, we aim to cultivate professionals with a comprehensive understanding of experimentation, analysis, and evaluation. At the same time, we seek to foster an environment in which knowledge and experience can be effectively shared and passed on to future generations.   The Research Center for LWR Engineering is dedicated to contributing to the sustainable advancement of light water reactor technology in Japan. Achieving this goal requires close collaboration and open dialogue with all stakeholders. We sincerely appreciate your continued understanding, support, and partnership.
